Food Entrepreneurs Find Continued Success

Whether they were newly hatched companies or enterprises needing a little help getting to the next level, competitors in the 2016 Food+City Challenge Prize are still going strong. We checked in with three of the Silver Prize winners to hear about their progress. Click the company names to get the full stories.
Agruppa saw the opportunity to pivot. While connecting mom-and-pop produce vendors in Columbia directly to suppliers, the company realized they needed to make an adjustment to be more effective. The Food Corridor partnered with food incubator and commissary kitchens to learn from the inside about shared food spaces. Meanwhile, Real Food Solutions and their nutrition bar created to ease nausea was acquired by Pink Stork Solutions.

Our second Jeffersonian Dinner on The Last Food Mile was held in Rome at the award-winning restaurant Romeo Chef & Baker. We are so grateful for our partners at Gustolab Institute. At the Tech and Food event hosted by General Assembly Austin, Nadia Chaudhury, editor of Eater Austin, moderated a great discussion. F+C's own Robyn Metcalfe and panelists from Favor and Dinner Elf talked about food-tech trends, like how tech can help fight food waste, and how really, really smart cities will integrate food logistics into city infrastructure.
