Are you prepared to meet with your legislator? Advocacy tips are available at www.okedrally.com Talking points and leave behind notecards will be available on the first floor of the Capitol Monday morning.

The rally will focus on ensuring a high-quality teacher for every classroom and common-sense testing. Make sure to review the talking points and think about how your child, students and schools have been impacted by these issues. Be ready to share your personal story with lawmakers and explain to them why these issues are important to you as a constituent. Personal stories have the greatest impact!

Examples to think about:
  • Has your school/district canceled a course because of the teacher shortage?
  • Is your child's class size higher than it was just a few years ago?
  • What other steps has your district taken to cope with the teacher shortages? Have you hired teachers with emergency certificates?
  • How has testing impacted your child/family or your school/classroom?

Traffic Alert! The Turner Turnpike will be down to just one lane Monday both westbound and eastbound at Wellston for bridge work. The Turnpike Authority suggests exiting at Wellston and taking Rt. 66 if you’re coming from the Tulsa area and then, on the return trip, taking 66 to Wellston before getting on the turnpike.

Staggered arrival times for school buses are suggested. Traffic flow and suggested arrival time maps are available at www.okedrally.comBus parking will be available near the Capitol. Part of Lincoln will be closed to allow safe crossing from the bus drop-off point.
