UW SafeCampus/Empowering Prevention and Inclusive Communities (EPIC) is hiring a new Postdoc training specialist. The EPIC program is an innovative peer-to-peer harassment prevention training program jointly run between our UW postdoc union and the university. The Postdoc Training Specialist will have the opportunity to work with a team to develop, implement, and evaluate the EPIC program. The Training Specialist is a 20% FTE position & current UW postdocs are highly encouraged to apply. Apply on UW Hires, Requestion #183371 – accepting applications until the position is filled.

UW Libraries is excited to announce our new Open Scholarship Commons, designed to provide a hub for cross-disciplinary knowledge creation and dissemination. Enhance your science communication with wider audiences by learning new tools and techniques to share your research openly. From data visualization to digital book publishing, we have you covered at the Open Scholarship Commons! Our new, virtual OSC Experimentation Space has launched and we would love your feedback! We intend to develop and adapt this virtual space based on the experiences and comments we get from users of our services and attendees of our events, consultations, and workshops. 
UW eScience Institute and Research Computing are partnering with Microsoft Azure to offer cloud computing credits to UW researchers, including Postdocs, for both research and teaching projects. Award decisions will be based on both the scientific merit and suitability for cloud computing. Applications are due Nov 25.

Postdoc Union Bargaining New Contract
Our union began bargaining over our second contract on Friday, Nov 6. Our bargaining committee developed a list of Initial Bargaining Demands based on the results of the Postdoc Bargaining Survey, which you can still take if you haven’t yet. Please take a moment to add your name to our list of bargaining demands along with Postdocs all over campus. You can learn more about the bargaining process and get involved by emailing uaw4121@uaw4121.org.
 
Postdoc Parents!
The Postdoc Family Friendly Working Group (familyfriendly@uaw4121.org) has finalized a reimbursement system for the $30,000 Postdocs won for caregivers in our first contract. Funds will be distributed in December for postdoc caregivers who have worked at UW anytime from January through December of 2020. Please fill out this form by November 15th to be considered for reimbursement. Eligibility and amounts given will be need-based and determined after all responses are collected. We encourage all Postdoc caregivers to fill out this form.
