QUOTED IN FULLER MAGAZINE:
"When you know the story to which you belong, and when you know your role in that story, you have a profound sense of purpose. That is what we are invited into: God's ongoing work in this world. When we find ourselves contributing to a greater story, we thrive."

Over the coming year, the Council, through its Presbytery Gathering Team, will be innovating new ways to share our ministry together as a presbytery. The first innovation comes on November 17 where we will be gathering around the Lord ’s Table as the crescendo of our time together. The day will build in energy and culminate in celebration led by Chineta Goodjoin and the New Hope worship team. Everyone will leave elevated in spirit.
Please notice the new schedule. Yes, you are reading correctly. The business meeting comes first, and grows from there to powerful stories of faith and celebration. Make sure you plan ahead so you don’t miss a moment of this special time together as God’s extended family.

Why First-Fruits Giving is Good for Your Soul And the Church
by Forrest Claassen
"We may donate our second and third fruits where and how we please, but our first fruits belong to the church. More particularly, they belong to our congregations, our presbyteries, or our denomination.
How have I reached that conclusion? ” More

Farfegnugen
by Erin Dunigan
"Of course congregations give to the presbytery – just like people tithe, attend committee meetings, and worship on Sunday mornings. It just was.
But, that world is a world that seems to be behind us, not in front of us." More

Mark Roberts to Speak at Our Annual Pastors Retreat
It is time to think about booking the dates and preparing to sign up for the 2017 edition of the Los Ranchos Presbytery Pastors’ Retreat, scheduled for February 15-17, 2017. Once again we will be gathering at Serra Retreat in Malibu and we will be joined by a number of other pastors from neighboring presbyteries as word has gotten out that this event is “where it’s at” as we used to say.
We are also convinced that some of the positive vibe is the result of our speaker, Dr. Mark Roberts, the Executive Director for the Max De Pree Center for Leadership at Fuller Seminary. Mark's teaching from Ephesians will lay out new models of being Christ's church, including leader training and discipleship strategies. Our time with Mark will be rich and interactive, and will give us insights and materials to use in our ministries, enhanced by some of the best fellowship of the year and the beauty of one of the most pristine places in our area.
