REFLECTIONS

Some Things You Just Can't Google
by Tom Cramer

If you really want to know if something is right for you, it is far better to talk with your friends about it, or with someone who knows you and cares about you. More than that, someone who knows what you care about—your values. If you’re shopping for something really important, like a surgeon for an upcoming surgery, you don’t just want to read a bunch of reviews. You want to talk to a person who knows what you are going through, but most importantly, cares about you. That’s what a presbytery is for congregations.”  More
“Chosen By God Through the Voice of…”

God’s call may not even begin with the individual. One of my seminary professors described his call beginning at sixteen when the elders cornered him and said, “God has called you to be a pastor.” When he replied, “I haven’t heard God calling me,” they said, “That’s okay; we have.” Decades later, he still was a pastor. Funds Distributed YTD - $188,066

$292,700 has been set aside for matching grants to increase long-term mission from congregations and individuals in Los Ranchos Presbytery. Each gift to a validated project will be matched dollar for dollar. Your generosity will be doubled. This money must be designated before 2017 and be above and beyond our current mission giving. $188,066, or 64% of our fund, has already been distributed to our Validated Projects.

If this is to become a reality we need people like you--people engaged in the mission of Jesus Christ--to prayerfully consider significant gifts toward new and expanded mission.
