PASTORAL CARE ALERT
Dear Colleagues in Ministry,

You may have already heard, but Forrest Claassen suffered a tragic loss over the weekend. His brother’s family fell through the ice on a pond while vacationing in Kansas. His brother survived, but his sister-in-law and eight-year-old nephew did not. Forrest has gone to comfort his brother and relatives during this most difficult time.

Please join the Presbytery Staff and Council in praying for Forrest and his family.

With faith in the God of all comfort,

Tom Cramer

REFLECTIONS

Looking Out the Window
by Tom Cramer

There was so much we wanted to tell them about that night, about the fire, about how we had prayed, and about how God had given us confidence that we could act lovingly toward each other... More
Ten Percent Giving: A Joyful Feast

“Someone told me with great amazement that so-and-so gives a tithe. How shameful it is that what was taken for granted among the Jews has now become an amazing thing among Christians” (John Chrysostom, 4th century).  More

OUR STORY

Pursuing Excellence in Communication for Spanish Speakers
by Candie Blankman

In 2003 I was called to Downey First Presbyterian Church and began in earnest to work alongside Spanish speaking people. Almost immediately I wondered if there was a way to bring the experience I had been given in pursuing excellence in communication through SCORRE to Spanish speakers.  More

PLR,

Buenos
dias! Please see the letter of gratitude and the beginning of a potential partnership between Placentia Presbyterian, Fullerton Presbyterian and Kraemer Middle School in Placentia CA. Dios es Bueno!

Thank you for making these children smile with hope!

Let's remember these children and their families in our prayers. Also keep praying for the door that was set open through this gift of yours. May our Triune God guide our interaction with them in a way that is Relational,  Relevant, and Bold!

Los Ranchos Challenge Nears Its Goal with 98% Raised
by Kathy Hill Long

In 2015, $292,700 was set aside for matching grants to increase long-term mission from congregations and individuals in Los Ranchos Presbytery. Each gift to a validated project was matched dollar for dollar. Your generosity was doubled. This money was to be designated before 2017 and be above and beyond our current mission giving. We are proud to announce that $286,453.28 or 98% of our fund has already been distributed to our Validated Projects. That's 98%! Thank you, Los Ranchos. Website
