I hope you're all enjoying this busy holiday season. It's been an enjoyable autumn for me, getting out to meet with readers, sign books, and enjoy the Windfall
Meet the Real Dr. Pam
After Ten Years, a Promise Fulfilled
Those of you who have already read Windfall
are familiar with Dr. Pam LaRue, a close friend of Pen's. What you may not know is that the name comes from a real person. In 2004, the real Pam, who lives in suburban Minneapolis (and does some writing herself), submitted a successful bid at a charity auction for the opportunity to have one of my characters named after her. What neither of us knew at the time was that I would not have any new characters, or indeed, any new books at all, for another ten years. When I emerged from my long health-related hiatus in 2014 with Downfall
, I began plans to fulfill the promise I'd made all those years ago. The result: Dr. Pam LaRue, a pediatrician who is in a relationship with Pen's boss and has become a friend of Pen's. She figures to make additional appearances in the series. To the real Pam: Thanks for your patience, and thanks for the use of your name.

Coming Up Next: _____Fall
Title Suggestions, Anyone?
No rest for the weary. I'm plugging away at my next book in the Pen Wilkinson series. It's tricky, doing the writing in between promotional appearances, but it's definitely a labor of love. I can't divulge any details now, except that the story involves Pen's nephew, Kenny. I'll say only one other thing for sure: The title will end with a "Fall." Stay tuned!
I've set up a new Facebook author page, which I invite everybody to visit and, of course, to "like." Just click the Facebook link on this page.
I hope you all have a blessed and festive holiday season and a spectacular 2016. Thank you for being my readers!
