A Driggs City Council Seat Opens
as Council Member Scotty Stuntz
Moves After a Decade in Driggs.

"I'm very grateful for the opportunity I've had over the last few months to serve the citizens of Driggs. My partner and I have decided to move on so we can pursue the next phase of our lives and, specifically, so she can finish her education. To do those things, we will be moving in the near future.

Since I'm planning on leaving this community that I've loved deeply for a decade, I believe I should give someone else the opportunity to make the decisions that will affect its future. I have great confidence in our Mayor and the City Council, which has been my pleasure to serve alongside. Thank you to the citizens who elected me, and thank you to the dedicated staff which makes it possible for our city to function.

Driggs will always hold a special place in my heart.

Scotty Stuntz

The Idaho Transportation Department is inviting public comment on the Idaho Transportation Investment Program (ITIP) for 2023-2029 now through July 31, 2022.
The ITIP project determines which transportation projects our state and federal funding support over the next seven years, including roads, bridges, transit, bike & pedestrian, and aviation.

There are several local projects in the ITIP that we encourage YOU to comment on:

Teton County South Highway 33 Intersection Improvements: left and right turn lane improvements at the following intersections:
  • LeGrand Pierre Ave (schools access)
  • 2000S
  • 4500S
  • 6000S
  • 7000S
  • 8000S
  • Cedron Rd
These projects are scheduled for 2024-2025, but funding is in question, so support of these projects will help ensure they stay in the program.

Driggs Wallace Ave Sidewalks: a Transportation Alternatives Grant project to improve sidewalks and streetscape on Wallace Ave (to match Depot St);

Teton County Hwy 33 Multi-Modal Pathway: a separated asphalt pathway continuing north from Driggs to 2500N

Note: the Baseline Road intersection in Victor has secured funding through the BUILD grant program and is not on the ITIP project.

Please Review the ITIP webpage for more information, an interactive map of all projects, and all modes of submitting your comments by July 31, 2022.  Make your opinion count by commenting today!
The next Community Conversations is Thursday, July 21 at Noon.
This month, Mayor August Christensen wants to talk about Housing! Join her at the City Park under the picnic pavilion on the corner of Ashley Avenue and Second Street. Bring your own lunch, and drinks and cookies will be provided.

Can't make it on your lunchbreak? No problem! Share your thoughts anytime through the
Mayor's Comment Box.
