The Planning & Building Department is working hard for this great city! And we'd like to welcome Evan Grott to the team. Have questions on a building permit? He's your guy! Thank you Planning & Building staff for all your time and energy in steering this bustling small town in the right direction. Greetings, Friends and Neighbors!

Summer is here, and we are kicking off the season with Community Conversations this Thursday, June 16, at 10 am at the RISE coffeeshop garden. Our inaugural topic is public engagement, and I look forward to hearing what ideas you have! Event details are below.

Did you make it to the stargazing event? Thank you, Ralph Mossman, for partnering with Wyoming Stargazing to showcase the wonder of our night skies. Large telescopes were set up for the public to observe and learn about the many celestial wonders visible from right here in Driggs. Thanks to the Lighting Committee twelve years ago, we will all be able to enjoy the benefits of a dark night sky for years to come. Learn more about our Dark Sky Ordinance and how you can participate.

Have you heard about our efforts to conserve water this summer? By staggering irrigation days, we can reduce the strain on our water supply during the year's warmest months. See our post below with the details, and thank you for doing your part to conserve one of our most valuable resources!

School is out for summer, and while it’s a wonderful time of year, parents may feel extra stress navigating childcare needs. Many of you already know that our community is in a tight situation, with three providers having closed and one needing a new location this year alone. Many are working diligently on this situation, and we hope to have solutions in the coming months. Please contact me with leads on an available location or land options in or near Driggs. This is near and dear to my heart, and I am working hard to solve problems for our working families and employers.

Get out and enjoy our beautiful town this June. Take care, Mayor August Christensen
