Now that November is here it is time for The Tree House CAC staff to say Thanks for Giving! In this newsletter we’d like to pass along our gratitude to all of our wonderful donors and supporters. To do so we’ve complied quotes and brief stories from children and families seen at The Tree House, as well as from the staff that works with them. Please take a few moments to read these heartfelt thanks. What you do DOES make a difference… every day!
"Thank you so much for these school supplies. They were very much needed and we’re truly thankful because this will help us use the money we save to pay bills. Thanks once again, and God bless.”- A mother
"Thank you so much, for the beautiful lunch pail that you gave me. May God bless you, Thank you for your support. We appreciate it all, from the bottom of our hearts" – A child (translated from Spanish)
“Thank you for the gift. I really needed one and I got really happy because my birthday had just passed.”- A 10 year old child
“A client of mine had 3 sons who were able to get backpacks with matching and really cool lunchboxes. The mother was overcome with gratitude. I was the lucky recipient of the hug. She told me how grateful she is that she can give them some of the things that she could not provide for her boys, and that not only were they meeting a need but making it "cool and fun" for one son who is very particular and especially in need.”- Jeanine Lamb, therapist
“You mean people donated all of these things for us? They are so nice!”- Spoken by a child, heard by Nina Blecher, Community Outreach Coordinator
“Thank you for donating clothes for us. We really appreciate everything and we thank you so much for giving us your amazing clothes.”- A teenager
“Oh WOW! Cool! It’s a Giraffe!”- Overheard by Dr. Evelyn Shukat as a child first saw the scale donated by Dr. Steven Hirsch of Hirsch Pediatrics in Rockville.
“Thank you for the jacket for my daughter. God bless you all.”- A mother
"Thank you for the clothes. It's changing kids' lives!"- Spoken by a child, heard by Lorena Guido, Victim Advocate
“To the person who helped us with donations , I thank you with all my heart. God bless you always.” – A Mother (translated from Spanish) “There was a pre-teenage girl who came into my office earlier this year to pick out a small gift from our donations. It was her birthday. After she chose her gift, she noticed some baby bottles on a high shelf. She turned to me and said, “My aunt is going to have a baby. May I take something for the baby?” I told her she could and she proceeded to put back her own birthday gift. I told her to keep it and wished her a very happy birthday.” - Nina Blecher, Community Outreach Coordinator
“I would like to thank everyone for the donations that I have received for my kids and me. The gift card and diapers and clothes are a great help to relieve some stress that my family and I are going through. I am very thankful for all the help that everyone has provided for my kids. I don’t believe I would have been able to do it myself.”- A father
“Thank you, and may all your wishes come true!”- A thank you note from a family
