On Saturday 15th June the year 9 parents teamed up for our quarterly Plant Sale fundraiser and working Bee! Thank you to all who came and supported, it was an outstanding effort, with plants being sold like hot cakes and the Working Bee being finished in record time!

Trust Live

Don't forget that our annual Trust Live concert is being held on Saturday 29th June.
This is always a wonderful evening where all of our schools come together to show case the wonderful talents of our students.

OPEN DAY

Please remember to let your family and friends know that we are now enrolling for 2020.

Language & Culture

As part of their Spanish project, the Y10s visited Argentinian steak house ‘The sizzling Lomito’ and  had one of the most fabulous culinary experiences. With a starter of ‘choripan’, followed by ‘empanadas’  and churros for dessert they took every opportunity to brush up their Spanish and embrace the authentic Latino culture.
Buen provecho!

PROJECTS

As your child is working through the project tasks please encourage them to send them to the teachers for pre-marking.  This will give them feedback and allow them to review tasks so that they are able to move marks to the highest possible level.
If you have not seen the marking feedback from Project 3 please ask your child to share it with you.  They have completed a reflection around this marking and so will be able to talk to you what they are now focusing on as a result of this information.

Have a wonderful week!

A few reminders...

KITCHEN
Just a reminder that our students are no longer allowed to use the kitchen to cook their noodles, unfortunately it has become a very difficult task to manage. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause but we appreciate your understanding.

 ABSENCES

Please make sure to call the office by 9am to report any absences or email with a reason would be appreciated.
Contact on 09 523 1241 or
admin@mthobson.school.nz

CELL PHONES
Students are not permitted to use cell phones during school time. If your child needs to contact you, or you them, please do this through the office.

HOMEWORK

Homework tasks will be posted on the school website on a weekly basis, however, if your child does not have assigned homework, they will have tasks that need to be completed.

DROP OFF ZONES
Please ensure students are not dropped off outside of school on Remuera Road. Legally we are not able to treat this as a drop off area and it is not safe on such a busy road.
Dilworth Ave is the designated drop off area.

LATE ARRIVALS

If your child is running late, please call and inform the office. All students are to report to the office before going to class.

DEVICES & VALUABLES
We need to emphasis the importance of our students handing in their devices and their valuables i.e Wallets, bank cards. We cannot be responsible for items that are lost or misplaced that are not handed in for safe keeping.

SCHOOL PHOTOS
If you are still wanting school photos remember to go online and use your key code to order the photo's.

WATER BOTTLES
Please remember that all students need to have a water bottle as we are trying to avoid them using the glassware in the kitchen.
We have had a few cases of the flu so please help us prevent the spread of these viruses where you can.

WINTER BUGS
We have a number of sick students and staff members at the moment.  Please support us with encouraging students to cough and sneeze into their inner elbows and to wash their hands regularly so they don't spread germs.
