Long Acting Injectable Buprenorphine- the latest option in the treatment of opioid dependence
Gippsland PHN is partnering with the Gippsland Pharmacotherapy Network to deliver this CPD approved face-to-face education.
Targeted to general practitioners, nurse practitioners and pharmacists, the session aims to provide education to prescribers on long-acting injectable buprenorphine (LAIB), a treatment option for opioid dependant patients.

AOD GP and service provider networking forums
General practitioners, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other health professionals are invited to attend a facilitated forum and share in a dinner that will provide an opportunity to meet with your local AOD service providers.
The networking forums will provide an opportunity for GPs, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, AOD service providers and other relevant stakeholders to meet, discuss and inform improved outcomes for people with alcohol and drug addiction through increased understanding and networking of services across Gippsland.
The forum will also assist to build the capacity of GPs and other health professionals in Gippsland and increase their knowledge and resources available to better treat patients with drug and alcohol addiction.

The general practice front desk and administration teams have worked under pressure over the past two years, due to the ongoing impact of the pandemic. Some patients also continue to feel frustrated and feel the impacts of the pandemic with everyone dealing with general COVID fatigue.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
Facilitated by Latrobe Regional Hospital, LivingWays and Lifeline Gippsland, this course is mandatory training for ALL new mental health staff and all existing who have not attended the two-day course since December 2014 or not attended the tune-up consecutively every two years.
The two-day training workshop is an intensive participatory course designed to help participants as care givers recognise and assess people at risk of suicide and to implement an effective suicide intervention model.

Improving clinical psychology competencies in working with older adults in Rural Residential Aged Care Facilities
This series of workshops has been developed to upskill psychologists working in regional and rural Victoria to work therapeutically with aged care residents.

This 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.

Diagnosis and Treatment of PTSD in Emergency Service Workers
