An invitation is extended to practice managers, facility managers and pharmacists to attend this education event.
Capacity Tracker is a free, secure, online communication tool that allows general practices, Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) and community pharmacies to provide real-time workforce and resource information to Gippsland PHN, enabling it to:

Building Therapeutic Communication in the context of Palliative Care and Voluntary Assisted Dying

  
An invitation is extended to general practices to host a free three-hour workshop for their general practitioners and practice nurses. The workshop, led by the Gippsland Regional Palliative Care Consortium, provides evidence based therapeutic communication skills to support care for all patients.

Safety and Suicide Intervention Training ( SSIT ) for mental health clinicians

Safety and Suicide Intervention Training (SSIT) is an education package designed to support clinicians who work with consumers experiencing acute suicidal crisis.

Improving clinical psychology competencies in working with older adults in Rural Residential Aged Care Facilities


This series of workshops has been developed to upskill psychologists working in regional and rural Victoria to work therapeutically with aged care residents.
 
Each workshop will comprise a one-hour webinar followed by a one-hour peer supervision discussion.

The workshops aim to provide psychologists with opportunities to improve their competence and confidence in working with older adults, enhance peer networking opportunities, and provide aged care residents greater access to evidence based mental health interventions.

This 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course teaches any adult (18 years and over) how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.   
                        
Conducted by Mental Health First Aid Training Australia, participants will learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

Diagnosis and Treatment of PTSD in Emergency Service Workers


This workshop with the Black Dog Institute has been designed with a focus on GPs to assist in diagnosing patients with acute stress disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and other comorbidities.

Evidence-based guidelines will be used as the foundation to appropriately diagnose and identify treatment pathways including recommended referrals, trauma focused psychological therapy and psychological first aid to help support the management of emergency service workers. The training may also be relevant to other health professionals.

The Benchmarque Group has recently launched its new free online-only Foundations of Chronic Disease program.

Delivered completely online, the program is aimed at a range of health professionals working within Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health or have Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients, and is estimated to take less than 10 hours to complete.

Rural Workforce Agency of Victoria Scholarship

Focussed psychological strategies skills training for general practitioners.

RACGP and the Rural Workforce Agency of Victoria (RWAV) are offering 100 scholarships to Victorian GPs in Modified Monash Model (MMM) 3-7 and GPs working in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation in (MMM) 1-2 + (MMM) 3-7  locations to complete Focussed Psychological Strategies Skills Training (FPS ST).
