Monday marks beginning of Spring 2018 semester

Another semester at Finlandia University begins today, Monday, January 8, 2018. The semester should be an exciting one for those at the university with all the fun that comes along with a spring semester. The Finlandia gridiron with football coach Rob Boss

New head football coach Rob Boss came to chat about the future of Finlandia University football this week on Finlandia Fridays. Boss stated “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here,” when asked about his Finlandia experience thus far. Boss joined Finlandia’s staff last fall as an assistant, and was promoted to head coach on November 6.

Phyllis Fredendall talks fiber, fashion and Brule Scholarship

Phyllis Fredendall, who is in charge of the fiber and fashion design program at Finlandia, stopped by this week to represent the International School of Art and Design on Finlandia Fridays. NCHA Offensive Player of the Week Sierra Meiners skates by to talk women’s hockey and nursing

Senior nursing student and women’s hockey captain, Sierra Meiners visited Finlandia Fridays this week to discuss the women’s hockey team and her final year in the nursing program. Meiners was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association’s (NCHA) Offensive Player of the Week this past week. Students gathered for a meal midway through MLK Day of Service 2017. Students can sign up now to volunteer during the 2018 MLK Day of Service.

Lions fall in Fierce Battle with Forresters

It was another valiant effort as the Finlandia University men's hockey team (0-7-1 NCHA, 0-13-1) lost 4-1 to Lake Forest (5-3 NCHA, 8-7), Saturday afternoon at Alumni Memorial Arena.

Finlandia Clashes with Spartans

A valiant effort fell short as the Finlandia University men's hockey team (0-6-1 NCHA, 0-12-1) lost 3-2 to Aurora (2-4-1 NCHA, 3-7-4), Friday night at Fox Valley Ice Arena.

Lions Scrub Comets out of the way

It was team to the ultimate power as the Finlandia University women's basketball team (3-12) slugged out a 77-74 win over Olivet (5-8), Thursday night at the Cutler Event Center. It is just the second win over an MIAA team in school history.

Lundeen Set To Play For Finlandia

Katie Lundeen (Maple, Wis.) has committed to play for the Finlandia University women's basketball team. She is planning on majoring in PTA.
