Conservative Party Conference 2015
The Conservative Party Conference will take place at Manchester Central between Sunday 4 October - Wednesday 7 October. 12,000 delegates are expected. Security measures and road closures will be in place which may impact on local businesses and residents.
On Sunday 4 October the TUC will hold a rally and march in the city centre. It is expected to be attended by over 70,000 people consisting of several different organisations and protest groups. The march will commence with a rally on Oxford Road at 12.30pm. There will be several road closures across the route, so please take care to plan your journey around the area at this time. MCR Student Night Out
Tuesday 29 September, 4 - 9pm
CityCo is working with Manchester Arndale and UNiDAYS on behalf of the Heart of Manchester BID to host another student shopping night. The MCR Student Night Out will be our biggest student event to date, following Vogue Fashion's Night Out and our MCR Student Takeover last autumn.
Students will be able to enjoy a range of over 200 exclusive offers, alongside store events and DJs, entertainment and games spanning Market St, New Cathedral St, Exchange Square, St Ann's Square and King St. Venues in the Northern Quarter and The Printworks are also getting involved for those wishing to party the night away.
The Christmas Marketswill return to the city from 14 November to 22 December. There will be over 300 stalls across 10 sites, including the main market in Albert Square, French Christmas Market on King Street, Arts and Crafts Market on Exchange Street, craft stalls outside the Corn Exchange and traditional market stalls, family events and attractions on Cathedral Gardens. Manchester Science Festival
22 October - 1 November
#MSC15 is part laboratory and part playground, with everything from forensic experiments and drone technology, to an adult ball pool and electrifying art installations.
