Boonton UMC

June 12, 2022
First Sunday after Pentecost

Sunday worship at 11:15am -
In-Person and on YouTube
Boonton UMC: A fun, musical, relevant, relational, and compassionate church
where people find hope, healing, and wholeness.
NEW Sermon Series

Starts This Sunday!
Our new summer sermon series on the minor prophets starts this Sunday, and we can’t wait! Each minor prophet will play a different role on our minor league baseball team and will be in a different position on the field. Who will be on first and who will be elsewhere? I don’t know (third base!), but you’ll have to join us each Sunday from July 12th to August 28th to find out!

On this first Sunday, June 12th, we are opening up with a skit to introduce the series called “Who’s on the Team?” inspired by Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First?” We’ll be delving into Hosea, our first minor prophet, and we invite you to get ready for a message from Hosea 11:1-11 entitled, “You’re Killing Me, Smalls!”

We’re taking you out to the ball game each Sunday this summer, and we might even buy you some peanuts and Cracker Jacks if you’re lucky! So, come one, and come all. No matter what team you root for, you are welcome here. It’ll be a summer to remember and we’re going to knock this one out of the park together!

Whether in-person or on YouTube,
we look forward to seeing you at 11:15am Sunday!

in the fellowship hall

All congregants are invited to join us in the church fellowship hall from 9am to 12 noon on Saturday, June 11th for an important gathering where we will dream and vision together, set goals and establish objectives together, as we emerge from the pandemic and into the new landscape of ministry that surrounds us.
Last Call for Baseball Related Items

Since we're taking you out to the ball game each Sunday, we invite you to donate bats, batting gloves, helmets, jerseys and hats (of any team), baseballs or anything related to the sport that we can borrow and use to decorate the sanctuary with. Thank you in advance for your help! Please reach out to Pastor Donald today or tomorrow at (973) 771-9511 or pastordonaldk44@gmail.com if you can help with this in any way.

And Here's One Last Additional Way We're Raising Money for Relay For Life at the Event!
The theme this year is crazy hats, and we invite you to join us as we put a cap on cancer together!

Also, are you a cancer survivor? Or are you someone who has lost a family member or close friend to cancer? If so, we invite you to be a part of a special ceremony happening later in the evening at the Relay for Life event on June 11th. We will honor all those who are cancer survivors and those who have died from cancer, and we invite you to consider purchasing a luminary bag in honor of someone at
www.relayforlife.org/greatermontvillenj.

Hungry to Whole

Inspired by “The Daniel Plan” book and John Wesley’s Holy Clubs, Hungry to Whole is grounded in Psalm 107:9 – “God satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (NIV). Our prayer is that those who come hungry each week would leave whole in more than one way.

Join us for our next Dinner Gatherings (potluck style)
Wednesday, June 15th and Wednesday, June 29th, 6:30-8:00pm at MUMC

Our special guest this week will be Megan Stypulkoski, a vegetable artist & herbalist. Bring a dish to share and invite a friend, neighbor, or co-worker!
