Boonton UMC

September 18, 2022
15th Sunday after Pentecost

Sunday worship at 11:15am -
In-Person and on YouTube
Boonton UMC: A fun, musical, relevant, relational, and compassionate church
where people find hope, healing, and wholeness.
Tomorrow we begin a new sermon series called "Dream On." There's something welling up inside all of us. It may be deep and hard to see at times, but it's there: dreams. Dreams for ourselves and our family, dreams for our church and our communities, dreams for our nation and world. More than the dreams we struggle to remember upon awakening, dreams are visions and hopes, however big or small, implanted in our heart by God, desires and hopes we have for the future.

There was a dreamer named Joseph in Scripture and his story is the longest of any other in the book of Genesis. He dreamed dreams, but then had setback after setback, which made it seem as though the dreams God gave him wouldn't come to pass. And yet, in spite of all the hardship, in spite of the setbacks, God brought those dreams to fruition. Do you believe that, in spite of the setbacks, God's word will come to pass in your life?

You may wish upon a shooting star, throw a penny in a well, hold out a hope as you blow out your birthday candles. But, more than anything, we hope you will put your dreams before the One who is a wellspring of life for us and is capable of making even the most impossible dreams become realistic.

Join us for an unforgettable Sunday as we start our newest series. And be thinking and praying about what your dreams for our church might be, for we're going to be inviting you to write those dreams out this Sunday as we imagine the possibilities together.

Whether in-person or on YouTube, we hope you can join us at 11:15am this Sunday at Boonton UMC!

Happening at the Boonton Library

Share a story of a cherished tradition or memorable celebration unique to your community or family. Traditions come in all shapes — the Indian art of creating beautiful Rangoli designs in front of your doorstep every morning to heralding the arrival of a new firetruck with a great wet-down! Celebrations, likewise, may be anything honoring the Mexican Day of the Dead to welcoming the changes of the season.

Here’s how to participate: Click HERE and fill in your name, contact information, and a brief description of the story you plan to tell. Tellers will be chosen randomly one week in advance of each event.
