Boonton UMC

May 15, 2022
Fifth Sunday of Easter

Sunday worship at 11:15am -
In-Person and on YouTube
Boonton UMC: A fun, musical, relevant, relational, and compassionate church
where people find hope, healing, and wholeness.
The Teacher in Ecclesiastes is contemplating in chapter 9 on the fact that, whether good or evil, rich or poor, educated or uneducated, the same fate happens to us all.

There is also uncertainty expressed, for we often don't know what tomorrow will bring, for "time and chance happens to us all." But in the midst of the fragility and uncertainties of life, one thing we can do is to make the most of each day, no matter how meaningless or meaningful we may see life on this earth to be. And, in doing so, we just might find that meaning is infused into our days and lives like never before.

Ecclesiastes has much more wisdom to impart to us, so we hope you'll join us as we continue to journey on this quest toward meaning together!

Whether in-person or on YouTube,
we look forward to seeing you at 11:15am Sunday!

Calling All Baseball Related Items

This summer, we are taking you out to the ball game each Sunday. And we might even buy you some peanuts and Cracker Jacks (for those not allergic to them)! After delving into Ecclesiastes, we'll be delving into a summer sermon series on the minor prophets, and each of our prophets will play a specific role on the baseball field. Who's on first and where will the rest be? Who knows. But if you have bats, batting gloves, helmets, jerseys and hats (of any team), baseballs or anything related to the sport, we invite you to bring them. We will collect these items and then use them to decorate the sanctuary with when we start the series. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hungry to Whole

Inspired by “The Daniel Plan” book and John Wesley’s Holy Clubs, Hungry to Whole is grounded in Psalm 107:9 – “God satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things” (NIV). Our prayer is that those who come hungry each week would leave whole in more than one way.
