Are you excited for Assembly next week?

We are so excited to welcome you in Sunriver!  To make sure that you are able to participate fullyand to prevent any unpleasant surprisesplease read this email carefully so you'll know everything you need to come fully prepared.

Registered attendees

We will resend your registration confirmation today. This will confirm that you are registered for the event. If you do not receive the confirmation email, you are not registered for Assembly and will not be able to attend. (Each year we have someone who is sure they registered, but who did not get either a confirmation, or indication that they paid. This means they didn't complete the registration, so we can't admit them to the event. If you are not registered, please don't put our staff and volunteers in the difficult position of needing to turn you away once you get to Sunriver.)
  • Resort map with the registration location circled in yellow
  • Wondering if you can check-in early?  Call the resort 1-2 days in advance.
  • Want coffee outside of meals? You can bring a travel mug, make coffee in your room to bring to the sessions, or plan to buy coffee at the resort lodge.
COVID precautions
  • Proof of vaccination, or a negative test is required at check-in.  The negative test must have been taken after May 8.
  • Masks are encouraged, but optional (except for singing).
  • All Assembly activities are restricted to registered attendees.
Unregistered guests

Are you bringing an unregistered guest with you to enjoy the beautiful resort amenities?  Wonderful!  Please make sure they understand that due to capacity and safety considerations they will not be able to join or drop-in on any Assembly activities (including meals, coffee hour, workshops, worship, etc.). There is no registration onsite, and no drop-in visitors to any Assembly activity.

Prepare your guest in advance by sharing with them the
amenities they will be able to enjoy while you are busy participating in Assembly. For their meals, let them know that the room will likely have a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee/tea makers (call the resort to confirm). There is a complex of small shops (including a grocery store) and restaurants nearby as well as a sundries store and restaurants and bars in the lodge itself.

Preparing for Assembly
  • Review the Assembly Booklet.  This booklet contains the agenda, guidelines, and important reports that will inform your Assembly participation.
  • If you are planning to bring a resolution or memorial from the floor, it must meet the additional criteria found in the rules of assembly and you are responsible for bringing enough copies for each voting member (270).
  • Please plan to bring your congregation’s completed mission support plan. We plan to prayerfully consecrate these offerings in our Sunday morning worship service on May 15. You can find the blank form on our website.
  • Our Assembly webpage includes additional resources: 2022 financials, partner reports, Robert's Rules of Order primer, nominations from the floor form.
This year, we will NOT be providing printed packets for Assembly participants. Either bring a device (phone, kindle, iPad, etc.) to view the materials and resources on, (you can also download the materials onto your device in advance of Assembly) or print materials out at home or at church in advance of the event. For ease of access and printing, we have made several sections of the booklet available individually on our Assembly webpage.
Are you a shutterbug? We'd love to see your pictures of Assembly!  (Just make sure you get the person's permission (or the parent's permission of a minor) for use in synod communications.)  Email pictures to our communications specialist.

See you at Assembly!
