"Faith WITH Works is ALIVE!" Southwest Regional Assembly - October 29-30, 2016 Northway Christian Church, Dallas
What is Mission First! Why Should I Get Involved?
As part of this year’s Regional Assembly, Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4 is reserved for MISSION FIRST, a denomination wide futuring exercise in which you can help set the course of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for the next few decades. We will gather in the Northway Sanctuary by 1 pm, have opening worship and instructions, and then break into pre-assigned groups of 8 that will scatter through the campus to tables arranged for them. Led by facilitators, participants will answer 3 key questions about the future priorities of the church using guided instruction, meditation, prayer, discussion, and creative art. We will then regather in the sanctuary and share summaries of our findings, and close in worship by 4. All the recorded notes and summaries will be sent to Indianapolis as the offering of the Southwest Region toward the search for the future of the Disciples of Christ.
The Southwest Regional Assembly will be Saturday and Sunday, October 29-30, at Northway Christian Church in Dallas. Updatedflyeravailable to provide information.

Nomination Process Open for General Board, Moderators
The General Nominating Committee (GNC) will be meeting in December to nominate a moderator team and the next GNC class of the general board. Each biennium, the GNC seeks nominations from across the life of the church for qualified persons to serve in this capacity.
The moderator team serves a two-year term (the moderator-elect serves for four years). The GNC members of the general board serve a four-year term. The paragraphs from The Design that describe the role of the moderators and general board members can be found here.(2 pages)
The GNC has the responsibility of ensuring diverse leadership in the life of the church, including: clergy/laity, male/female, racial/ethnic, age and geographic representation.
We are also seeking to develop a database of persons with specific gifts and skills. This database will be available to general ministries who are seeking qualified board members.
If you know of a person who is qualified and gifted to provide faithful leadership to the church, please nominate them using by clicking this online nomination form Nominations should be received no later than November 1, 2016.
