Greetings to All of the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) in Texas, and a Request for Prayers from our Friends and Neighbors,
We greet you with God's love and grace found in Jesus Christ our Savior. It is with great excitement and intentionality to send this letter of invitation to our DOC churches in Texas. On November 7, 2016, Jarvis Christian College and The Disciples on Campus at Texas Christian University will come together to gather in worship and fellowship as we intend to talk around the topic: "Breaking the Barrier: A Conversation about Racism in America."  This historic collaboration is the beginning workings of our institutions coming together to foster stronger bonds as we bridge the gap from the church to the academic arena. We invite you to come and bear witness to this prophetic moment in the life of the church between these two Disciples institutions as we attempt to live out what it means to be “people of the table.”
This event will be hosted on Jarvis Christian College campus in the Howard-Smith Chapel at 7 pm on November 7, 2016. We invite your church to come to participate in our worship/fellowship as Disciple churches. We have invited key leaders in our churches to participate and your presence will be much appreciated. If you have questions please feel free to contact us via email or phone as our information is included with this letter. Also attached to this email is a
flyer for your convenience to promote in your church and communities.  This is an open and free event for the community.
Prayerfully submitted,
