MISSION TRIP SUCCESS
What An Inspiring Trip!
The youth have returned from their mission trip to Chicago with DOOR Network with the youths of First Central and Hastings UCC. While there, they fed people with the Night Ministry; helped in the home of the family of a minister who had been deported by ICE; helped set up a back to school (and completely free) “sale” for women and families affected by domestic violence with Sarah’s Inn; and fed people breakfast with Grace’s Place. They also were personal shoppers in Vital Bridges, a food bank set up for folks with dietary restrictions due to HIV/AIDS. Amongst all of the service, they also enjoyed some fun- including a visit to the beach! Katie will be sharing more about the trip soon, including more pictures!

SANCTUARY CHOIR
Choir rehearsals will begin Wednesday, August 21st at 7p.m. in the Choir Room on the lower level. We welcome new members to our mini-family, and to the songs, laughter and fellowship we share. We live the motto, "No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you are most welcome to join us in our song." Everyone is welcome. The party to kick-off the choir season will be Friday, August 23rd at 6 p.m. Location TBA.

Our new phone system is mostly installed. Our office staff and volunteers are learning the new system.  Our Computer Team is busy upgrading hardware, software, and the network.  The Communications Team met with our new web designer this week as that (delayed) redesign and update moves forward.  And we will begin the roll-out of our new Church Management Software next week at the Combined Ministries Meeting.  It has been a full summer for technology and communications upgrades, living into reccommendations from our 2017 Long Range Plan.
