Daylight Savings Time
Don't forget to turn your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night.
(If, however, you find yourself at the church before everyone else on Sunday, please start a pot of coffee!)
It is also Food Pantry Sunday, so if you're out shopping for a tailgate or other event, please remember our friends who use the First Lutheran Food Bank.
Hallo-Wednesday!
Join us tonight for our RESCHEDULED Halloween activities.  Hallo-weenie supper starts at 5:30 in the parlor, please bring a side dish or desert to share.  The kids can trunk or treat in the warmth of Memorial Hall (around 6:00), and everyone is welcome to venture into the Haunted Gymnasium - if you dare!  There will also be games and crafts and fun for all ages.  Don't forget your costume!
Please plan to set up your "trunk" (table) in Memorial Hall before supper starts at 5:30.

We will resume our regular Wednesday night activities next week.
Thanksgiving Dinner
There is still time to sign up to help with our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, November 23rd.  Lots of jobs still available!  See the sign up sheets in the parlor.
Tickets will go on sale THIS SUNDAY.  Cost is $10 per person - make your reservations now! Find the ticket sale table in the parlor after worship.

Kerrie:  So, you’re our new Sexton now!  How is that different that your usual role here at the church?

Terry: Well, I guess I’m just working now in an official capacity.  I’ve always done work here at the church as things needed to get done...[More]

In The End of Memory, Miroslav Volf’s personal stories of persecution at the hands of communist forces in his native Yugoslavia offer a compelling backdrop in his search for theological resources to make memories a wellspring of healing rather than a source of deepening pain and animosity. This month's Theology Brunch will be held Thursday at noon at Early Bird in Blackstone.  For more details and an excerpt of the book.
