Communion Service 22nd August 11am on Zoom
Collect Bread, Juice and Bowl Friday 10am - 12pm

Hello Church Family,

Our next Communion is this coming Sabbath 22nd August 11am on Zoom.

Pr Tony and Pr Toby will be at both Albury and Wodonga churches on
Friday 21st August between 10am and 12pm for you to collect bread, juice and bowl.

This coming Sabbath 22nd August 11am the Family Ministry Team will lead out in Communion Service on Zoom.

However, preparation is key in maintaining the sanctity of this ritual.

Here are steps the Family Ministry Team would like all of us to implement as we prepare to celebrate the sacrifice Jesus did for us on Calvary.

1) Foot washing – you need a bucket, water and towels.

2) Communion Bread Preparation
There are three options available to you:
   a) You can bake your own bread; the recipe is provided for you.
This could be a family activity.
Please prayerfully carry out this activity, it would be a great opportunity to
explain why bread is being used as a symbol for the body of Jesus.
    b) you can buy Captain’s Table Biscuits from the supermarket.
These biscuits don’t have yeast in them
     c) if these options won’t work for you you can collect the bread and grape juice on Friday as mentioned above!

Scriptures tell us that the bread used in the feast of the Passover
and that used in the Lord's Supper was unleavened.

Here is a good recipe for making communion bread:
1 cup fine-ground flour (preferably whole grain)
   1/4 teaspoon salt
   2 tablespoons cold water
1/4 cup olive or other vegetable oil
Sift the flour and salt together. Pour the water into the oil, but do not stir. Add to the dry ingredients and mix with a fork until all the flour is dampened. Roll out between two sheets of waxed paper to the thickness of thick pie pastry. Place on an ungreased, floured baking sheet, and mark off with a sharp knife into bite-sized squares, being careful to prick each square to prevent blistering. Bake at 220 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Watch carefully during the last five minutes so that the bread will not burn. This recipe will be sufficient to serve about fifty persons.

3) Grape Juice – please note, we only use red grape juice, not sparkling grape juice.

For those meeting in Small Groups plan to do this in your group :-).

If you are not in a Small Group please get in touch with Pr Tony on 0430 041 116 so we can help you participate in Communion.
