AEM / PEM Professional Certification Webinar

Presented by Dr. Bill Daughton, PEM

ASEM is pleased to present the AEM / PEM Professional Certification Webinar. This webinar covers the history and evolution of the ASEM EMBOK and discusses its relationship to the Engineering Manager Professional Certification (EMPC) program. Details on how to become certified as an Associate Engineering Manager (AEM) or Professional Engineering Manager (PEM) will be discussed. This webinar will be important for anyone considering establishing processional certification as an engineering manager.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Bill Daughton is the Executive Director of ASEM and has been involved with the development of the ASEM EMBOK and the professional certification program since their inceptions. Dr. Daughton is Professor Emeritus in Engineering Management and was department chair at Missouri S&T and was the Lockheed Martin Professor of Engineering Management at the University of Colorado prior to that. He also has many years of experience as a technical manager in the microelectronics industry.

Considering the AEM/PEM?

Be sure to check out Bill Daughton's webinar on May 5th at 3:30 CDT to see what you need to do to prepare for it. If you are interested in working through the EMBoK as you prepare to take the exam, check out my ASEM blog from Tuesday April 7th.

I'm starting a virtual cohort in May to prepare for the exam in October at the Annual International Conference in Indianapolis. You are welcome to be part of the journey towards certification. Drop me a note and we will go from there.

ASEM Member Opportunities to Assist with Frontiers in Engineering Management, a Publication of the Chinese Academy of Engineering

Members of ASEM have a new opportunity to serve the engineering management profession by becoming an author, reviewer, or editorial board member of Frontiers in Engineering Management (FEM).   ASEM is developing and growing relationships as it expands to serve engineering managers worldwide.
ASEM and the Engineering Management Division of the Chinese Academy of Engineering have begun to collaborate on common opportunities.  One opportunity is for CAE members to publish in or review papers for ASEM’s flagship journal, EMJ.
Similarly, ASEM members can publish in or review papers for the CAE’s EM division’s new journal, FEM.  The Chinese Academy of Engineering is a member of the International Council of Engineering and Technological Societies, similar to the US National Academy of Engineering, the UK Royal Academy of Engineering, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and the Royal Belgium Academy of Applied Sciences.
To learn more about FEM, visit the webpage at
http://www.cae.cn/cae/tmp/FEM.html .  To learn more about volunteering to serve as a reviewer for FEM, please contact Angie Cornelius at ASEM-HQ@asem.org or Dave Wyrick, Associate Executive Director of ASEM at associateexecdirector@asem.org .  (Members can also volunteer to serve as reviewers for ASEM’s globally respected Engineering Management Journal, too!)
