Domain Transfer Policy Change
View this email in your browser

On January 26th, a new domain transfer policy will be implemented which will affect all international domains, for example .com, .biz, .org, .net. All domains ending .uk and .uk.com will not be affected by the change in procedure.

Set by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) in an effort to reduce fraud and domain hijacking, the new policy will mean that any updates to certain fields of the primary contact information for a domain will lock the site and prevent transfers for 60 days. The fields covered are:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address

As a result, if the primary contact details for your customers' domains are out of date or incorrect - or you'd just like to confirm we have the correct information registered - please contact a member of our team before January 26th to ensure you're not negatively affected by this policy change in the near future.
