IEA Program Update

                                                                                 Apr. 30, 2019

2019-20 New Student Applications Now Closed

The application for new students to participate in the Individualized Education Account (IEA) Program for the 2019-20 school year (Aug. 1, 2019-July 31, 2020) is now closed; the deadline was 3 p.m. CT on April 15. Applications for the 2020–21 school year will open in 2020.

Applications for private schools to participate in the IEA Program are accepted year-round. Current participating schools must annually apply to participate in the IEA Program. The department strongly encourages schools to apply as soon as possible so that parents are aware of which schools are approved to participate and to ensure the school’s application is fully approved by the Aug. 1, 2019, start date.

If you have any questions, please contact the IEA team at (615) 253–3781 or
Please note: Due to the volume of calls and emails, it can take the IEA team up to 10 business days to respond.

Expense Report Summary

The expense report summary for quarter one of the 2018-19 school year is now posted on the IEA web page (here). The expense report summaries include data such as the amount of IEA funding distributed and the amount of IEA funds spent on each type of expense for that quarter. The department cannot publish the individual expense information, as it is confidential student information protected under FERPA.
