Tennessee FCCLA State Meeting FAQs

The Tennessee FCCLA Meeting will be here before you know it! 
  • Conference Registration and Material Pick- up:
    • March 26, 6- 10 p.m. in Chattanooga Convention Center Lobby
    • March 27, 8 a.m.- 12 p.m. in Chattanooga Convention Center Lobby
  • STAR Events will take place on March 27 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.
  • The FCCLA Fun Night will be at the Tennessee Aquarium on March 27 from 6- 8 p.m.
  • The Tennessee FCCLA Banquet will take place on March 28. Seating will begin at 6:30 p.m.
  • The Awards Session will take place on March 29. Seating will begin at 8 a.m.
  • You can find a tentative schedule here.
  • Please make sure your students are adhering to the Tennessee FCCLA State Meeting Dress Code, found here.
  • Make sure you periodically check the Tennessee FCCLA State website for any updates related to the FCCLA State Meeting.

Culinary Arts State STAR Event Menu Update and FAQs

The 2017 Tennessee FCCLA State Culinary STAR Event will take place on March 27, 2017 at Dish-T-Pass in Chattanooga, TN. Competitors will be provided a shuttle to and from the location. Competitors should be prepared to board the shuttle at 8 a.m.
  • Competition set up will be similar to the previous year in that each team will be provided a work station with an electric cook-top. If competitors wish to have gas heat for their cooking, then they must provide their own burner and gas pump.
  • All ingredients for the menu will be provided.
  • Each group will need a battery operated scale. 
  • Each group will need to bring 3 butane burners if they want access to gas cooking. 
  • Each group will need gloves, saran wrap, and aluminum foil.
  • The chosen menu for the STAR Event has changed to Menu 2. You can view the menu here.

Join our FCCLA State Meeting Update "Remind App"

Make sure to join our FCCLA State Meeting Update through our Remind App so that you and your students stay up to date before, during, and after your State Meeting. The Remind App is a text messaging service that will be used in addition to other forms of communication to share pertinent information concerning the Tennessee FCCLA State Meeting.

To receive text messages from the FCCLA District STAR Event Update simply text @tnfccla17 to the number 81010.

Community Service Opportunities at the 2017 Tennessee FCCLA State Meeting

All Tennessee FCCLA members and chapters are encouraged to participate in the community service projects provided by Tennessee FCCLA at the State Meeting.

Chapters are invited to bring a silent auction item of no more than $20-$25 dollars. These items will be auctioned to conference attendees and all proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.

Chapters are also invited to collect coke tabs to bring to the State Meeting to be weighed and given to the Ronald McDonald House. The chapter with the most coke tabs by weight will be recognized for their efforts.

All submissions for the Power of Reading and Chapter Goals must be submitted to Pamela Sieffert by March 18.

By Law Change Proposal

The following by- law change proposal has been submitted by Brighton High School. The proposal will be debated and voted upon at the 2017 Tennessee FCCLA State Meeting. Voting Delegates will cast their vote on the proposal during the Business Session at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28. Voting Delegates must arrive to the Delegates Seating at 12:30 p.m. on March 28.

It is proposed that: Article 7 of the Tennessee FCCLA By-Laws be changed from Tennessee FCCLA State Meeting be changed from "State Meeting" to "State Leadership Conference," to take effect beginning in the year 2018.
