State Leadership Conference Registration Is Here!
Online registration for the 2016 Tennessee FBLA State Leadership Conference will be open from Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at 8 a.m. CST until Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. CST. The registration adjustment period will be March 8-9, 2016, and the adjustment period will close at 5 p.m. CST on March 9, 2016. Below are step-by-step instructions to complete your registration:

Conference Registration with Hotel Reservations in a Conference Hotel:
Regular Registration: $85.00 per attendee
Registration Adjustment Window: $95.00 per attendee
Conference Registration without Hotel Reservations in a Conference Hotel:
Regular Registration: $135.00 per attendee
Registration Adjustment Window: $145.00 per attendee
(Conference attendees who choose to stay in a non-conference hotel are assessed an additional $50.00 per attendee.)
Conference Day Guests (non-advisers or members who attend only one conference session):
Regular Registration: $40.00
Registration Adjustment Window: $50.00
Step-by-Step Registration Instructions
Step 1: Go to the online registration website: www.registermychapter.com/fbla/tn.
Step 2: Click "State Leadership Conference."
Step 3: Click "Registration" to the left of the screen.
Step 4: Enter your log-in credentials.
Username: FBLA Chapter Number
Password: tn + your school's 5-digit zip code (i.e. tn37804)
Step 5: Register your members.
- Click "Add New Name."
- Type in the student's First Name and Last Name.
- Type in the student's FBLA Membership ID number.
- Select "Student" from the Participant Type drop-down menu.
- Select the student's gender.
- Select the student's grade.
- List any special needs for the student.
- Select the student's event.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, click "Save."
- Repeat for each competitor.
Step 6: Register additional advisers or chaperones.
- Click "Add New Name."
- Type in the adviser's/chaperone's First Name and Last Name.
- Select "Adviser" or "Chaperone" from the Participant Type drop-down menu.
- List any special needs for the adviser/chaperone.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, click "Save."
- Repeat for each adviser/chaperone.
Step 7: Register for Tennessee Aquarium tickets. (Click here for the flier.)
- Click "Items" beside one adviser's name.
- Enter the total number of aquarium tickets for your chapter.
- Enter the total number of aquarium meals for your chapter ($8.00 per meal).
Step 8: Double-check your chapter's registration.
- Click "View Registration."
- Scroll down and click "View by Event" above the listing of individual names.
- Verify that each member has been registered for the correct event. (Suggestion: print this page and post for students to review their registered event.)
- Click "Back to Registration."
Step 9: Submit Registration. Click "Finished Registering."
If you have changes to make, simply log back into the online registration system, make any changes/adjustments, and click "Finished Registering" again. You can click "Finished Registering" as many times as necessary through March 9, 2016 at 5 p.m. Your chapter will be financially responsible for all attendees entered into the registration system as of 5 p.m. on March 9, 2016.

SLC Hotel Reservations
Conference hotel reservations will be available from Monday, Feb. 22, 2016 at 8 a.m. CST until Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. CST. To assist in accurate reservations, please only reserve rooms at the hotel where you can commit to staying. All hotel rooms in the FBLA room blocks will be available on Feb. 22, 2016. Additional rooms will not be added after this date.

Tennessee FBLA has an agreement with the Marriott and the Chattanoogan (behind the convention center) to book 80 percent of the contracted rooms; otherwise, our organization will face additional costs. Please consider staying at these two hotels.

SLC Prejudged Materials
The events listed below will accept submissions for the 2016 Tennessee FBLA State Leadership Conference electronically. The links for students to submit their work are listed below and will be posted on the SLC Prejudged Events webpage. Students may only submit their work one time. Due to the file size and complexity, submissions for Computer Game and Programming Simulation, Desktop Application Programming, and Mobile Application Development must be submitted by mail with three (3) DVDs/CDs/USB drives and received by March 18, 2016 at 5 p.m. to:

SLC Production Testing Window
The production testing window begins on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 8 a.m. CST and ends on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 5 p.m. CST. A production testing school-site proctor must be registered for students in the following categories:

- Spreadsheet Applications
- Word Processing

Pre-order Cost Information
Pre-order Deadline: March 7, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. CST.
One conference t-shirt and one state pin will be included for every registered conference participant. Additional conference t-shirts and pins can be pre-ordered through the registration website. Click “Items” beside the student's name to pre-order additional quantities of these items.
Payment is due in the state office by March 15, 2016.

Tennessee FBLA Membership Update
As of Feb. 18, 2016 Tennessee FBLA has grown to 6,894 members! All students wishing to compete at the 2016 Tennessee FBLA State Leadership Conference (SLC) must be a dues-paying member. Membership dues must be received in the national office on or before March 1, 2016.

State Officer Applications are Now Available!
The 2016-17 Tennessee FBLA state officer application packet is now available on www.fblatn.org under "For Students" and "Applications." All applications must be received by mail no later than Friday, March 18, 2016 at 5 p.m. CST.

Voting Delegates
- Each chapter is encouraged to bring two (2) voting delegates.
#AchieveTheDreamTN Leadership Academy
- This leadership development academy is for non-competing students only. In the #AchieveTheDreamTN Leadership Academy, students will learn strategies to develop their local chapter and engage their community while networking with Tennessee FBLA leaders of today and tomorrow. Each chapter is allotted two (2) spots for this academy. The academy's content will be directed to freshmen, sophomore, and junior members.

Call for Presenters - 2016 Institute for CTE Educators
We are looking for presenters to lead sessions during this summer’s Institute for CTE Educators. The theme for this year's institute is College and Career Roadmap: Developing the Ready Student. Teachers and directors will experience a week full of professional growth, instructional resources, and networking opportunities. The 2016 Institute will be held July 11-15 at the Music City Center in Nashville. Complete this application to submit a proposal.
Focus Areas and Session Content - Any connections to CTSOs in these focus areas are encouraged!
- Providing capstone experiences (internships, apprenticeships, clinicals, work-based learning, etc.) for students
- Preparing students to earn industry certifications that are aligned with postsecondary and lead to high quality employment opportunities
- Building regional/local relationships with employers and utilizing regional business partners in the classroom
- Integrating 21st century skills into CTE curriculum
- Connecting course content to postsecondary (two-year, four-year, or technical college) and career opportunities, including specific jobs, certifications, and degree programs
- Providing career exploration (job shadow, guest speaker, tour, etc.) activities for students
- Teaching problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Have another idea for an engaging session? We want to hear about it! Select "Other" as your focus area on the application.
* New this year: If your proposal is accepted, the lead presenter or a co-presenter will be required to attend a “presentation preview” phone call with a team member at the department. During this call, come prepared to preview the plan for your session, the session activities, and the session logistics. If a presentation includes multiple presenters, at least one presenter must be available for the preview call. All calls will occur during the month of April or May and will last approximately 30-45 minutes.

Required CTSO Release Form
All 2016 SLC conference participants must have a signed CTSO Release Form on file before participation can be granted. Please CLICK HERE to download a copy of the form. Advisers must keep all release forms in their possession at all times and be prepared to show them at the registration table at SLC. Attendees without a signed form will be sent home from the conference and will be unable to participate.
