|Message from the president
Dear colleagues and friends,
As EFPT approaches its 25th anniversary celebration, remaining the sole independent European medical trainee federation, it is my honour to introduce this Autumn 2016 edition of our newsletter.
Over the last few days, we have had the valuable opportunity to meet with our colleagues from around the world, those with whom perhaps we would otherwise not meet, given our vast geographical dispersion. EFPT is proud to have been a co-organizing association of the 2nd Congress of Early Career Psychiatrists. This is the right time for us to expand our horizons and think of new ways to collaborate with our colleagues beyond Europe, share our knowledge and learn from them. I hereby invite all National Trainee Associations to utilize EFPT’s communication network and have an NTA page of your own within efpt.eu, and ensuring that you can be easily reached.
I am also pleased to announce that the EFPT Porto Research Award applications are now open! You can find the Award description and more information about it on our website and in this newsletter. Do submit your research and share your work with your colleagues!
Finally, the world continues to pass through hard times, and this is reflected in our daily work. People are on the move, so are our patients, and ourselves. Recently this long-existing reality has become particularly pronounced, and it is changing the demographics of the world we live in. My wish and hope is that our solidarity and friendship will guide us through the future, building up new relations, being open and understanding towards each other.
I wish you a warm and peaceful autumn.
EFPT President 2016-17
