Message after EFPT Porto Forum 2015

Following, the 23rd EFPT Forum, held in Porto 22nd - 27th June 2015, this Special Issue of the Newsletter gives you the opportunity to have a glimpse of this exciting event and remembers some of the highlights from this wounderful Forum. Best e-posters

For the first time, we invited individuals to contribute to the Scientific Programme, by submitting their work, through e-posters and oral communications. The Scientific Programme of the EFPT Porto Forum has distinguished the three best posters from individuals. A follow up multicentre study involving data from several Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Units by Joana Reis and colleagues, entitled: "How are you now?" was awarded the first prize. Second prize went to Ana Rita Figueiredo and colleagues for their work entitled: "When wives are diagnosed with breast cancer: psychopathology in partners" and third prize was awarded to Amélia Aleixo for the project entitled "Olfactory dysfunction in schizophrenia".

Leadership and professional skills course

Ekin Sönmez participated in the EFPT Leadership and pofessional skills Course, and writes about how she was inspired to stand for the EFPT presidency.
Oral communication at the scientific program

There was a dead heat in the first prize for best communication with two awardees: Livia De Picker and Gustavo Santos, who spoke respectively on brain tissue, and suicide. The third prize was given to Asanga Fernando and Angharad Piette, from Maudsley Simulation, who spoke about their innovative strategies for mental health education.
Excellence Award: Russia

The Russian delegation was honoured with the Excellence Award for their work on bridging the communication gap between general practicioners and psychiatrists in Russia.

Best country poster: Greece

The prize for best EFPT country poster was won by Greece for their poster "Consequences Of The Financial Crisis on The Greek Health Care System - A Review Of A Greek Tragedy".
