Urgent West 55 Block Association Meeting
We will meet at 4 pm and 7 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 16
Twenty-seven people voted and the most popular time was Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 7 pm, closely followed by Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 4 pm.
Interestingly, most of the people who could make 7 pm could not make the 4 pm time slot and vice versa. (And yes, the dates were wrong on the poll, but most of you figured out which days of the week I was talking about.)
So, in order to accommodate the largest number of people, we're going to have two meetings: one at 4 pm and the other at 7 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Attend whichever one is most convenient for you; of course, you will be able to vote only once.
Then we'll tally the votes from both meetings and announce the results.
We'll use the same Zoom link as our Wednesday Zoom chats for both the 4pm and 7 pm meetings.
If you haven't already, you will need to register, using the following link:
(IMPORTANT: The registration link says 4 pm, but you can attend at 4 or 7 using the same registration link)
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meetings.
If you already registered once for our Wednesday Zoom chats, you should be able to join directly:
Meeting ID: 893 6272 3348
As a reminder the items we are discussing are:
1) Should we as a block association affiliate with the Hell's Kitchen Neighborhood Action Committee? This is a group that two block associations to our south have recently joined forces with to deal with the influx of homeless people in our neighborhood. We will learn about the committee at the meeting.
2) Should we have tree lights again this winter and if so, should we scale back? As you know, we have to pay for this ourselves. With so many people out of work, do we still want to ask residents for money for the lights? I will have information about estimated costs and fund-raising efforts from previous years.
