SAVE THE DATE - First JPI Oceans conference
 7 May 2015 - Brussels

The first JPI Oceans conference will present:
  1. The JPI Oceans Vision and Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda – Priorities for marine and maritime research in Europe and perspectives for future joint activities.
  2. The JPI Oceans joint actions on the ecological aspects of deep sea mining and micro-plastics, the multi-use of infrastructure for monitoring and intercalibration for the EU Water Framework Directive.
  3. The outcomes of CSA Oceans, the FP7 Supp  ort Action aimed to facilitate the implementation of JPI Oceans in its startup phase.
FIRST MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR JPI OCEANS
The Memorandum of Understanding for the Pilot Action “Joint funding of the scientific intercalibration exercise for the WFD coastal and transitional waters in the North-East Atlantic” has been formally completed on the 20th October 2014.

The competence centre will help EU countries achieve ‘Good Environmental Status’ of their marine waters by 2020, the main aim of the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD).
