The Eagles Flyer: Volume #2, 2015
Two years ago our club was faced with the challenge of finding a new home ground. We called a meeting of interested club members under the verandah of the shanty that was our old clubrooms at Finsbury and we posed the following question to those in attendance:

"If we go looking for a new home ground, do we want to be lodgers at someone else's club, or for the first time in many years, do we want our own place?" The resounding response was "our own place!"

In 2014 we secured the lease to Charles Cane Reserve in Prospect. It would be fair to say that when we arrived, the place needed a bit of work so we rolled up our sleeves, got stuck in and here's our new clubrooms!
Hang on, that's what it used to look like - here it is!
A massive thanks to all the club members who contributed in some way to transform this neglected clubroom into a fantastic modern facility. In particular a huge thanks to Scott Willsmore for his incredible skills, commitment and enthusiasm and thanks to Scott's family for their support as well.
As you can see, an incredible transformation giving us the most modern clubrooms in the association and something we can all be proud of.
Its now time to make the most of this hard work, take advantage of our fantastic new facility and support the club at the same time. For example, come in for a chat and a glass of something from the bar whilst the kids are at training. Stay behind after training on Thursday or Saturday night for a meal and a bit of socialising with other parents or team mates. Come and watch the senior teams playing every second Saturday afternoon and get stuck into a bucket of chips or a killer python from the canteen.
So now that we have our own clubrooms.......
How else can I get involved?
Glad you asked.

There are many opportunities to get involved in a voluntary capacity such as cooking the BBQ, serving in the canteen, cooking meals on a Thursday or Saturday night. Pretty soon we'll be putting the call out to club members to volunteer a small amount of their time over the season to help out in various ways and if everyone does a little, no one has to do a lot.

If you can't wait to put your hand up and get involved then please get in touch with myself or one of the other committee members and let us know how you'd like to help.
