URV was awarded by the European Comission an Erasmus + KA2 Strategic Partnership project aimed at developing a StrategiesApp (StratApp) in order to improve English academic reading skills of university students.
First of all allow me to wish you a very Happy 2018!
I am sure that this year will be full of interesting projects and at least on the international front, we can already say that 2018 has started with a bang.
I have just come back from Russia, where the URV was invited to participate in the 100th anniversary celebrations of our partner, the National University of Science and Technology MISIS. While there I also had the chance to meet with representatives from the Spanish Embassy in Moscow and have just come back with two very interesting proposals for developing the URV’s relations with Russia.
Furthermore, the URV is currently preparing a delegation to travel to Latin America to represent the University at student fairs, where we hope to recruit the best students for the ever-growing number of internationalised URV programmes.
At home, we have just received our incoming students for the second-semester and the 2018-19 call for outgoing mobility is well underway with growing numbers of students who wish to experience studying abroad.
All of this shows the URV’s firm commitment to internationalisation. Further evidence of this commitment is the DANG plan, which continues to successfully provide professors with the linguistic tools they need to deliver more courses in English at the URV and thus attract more and better international students; and the International Center has just submitted an ambitious application to the Erasmus+ international mobility programme (KA107), which will allow our institution to send and receive professors, staff and students to and from institutions outside Europe.
As you can see this year has started in full swing with work continuing on our institution’s strong commitment to internationalisation; a commitment that can only be implemented if you, yes, YOU, are part of the process! Welcome on board for a very international new year!
