New Titles!

These are just a few of the new titles that have been added to our catalog during the past several weeks: Ceremonial No. 2 for flute choir by Luis Pérez Valero; Alvaro Ponce de León’s Festrio, for percussion ensemble and Jorge Oviedo’s Violin Concerto. A number of other compositions, such as Miguel Santaella's Praeludium for soprano and mixed ensemble, Federico Echave's Ten Pieces for wind quintet and Adriana Verdié’s Brass Octet, Cheryl Songs for two voices, piano and snare drum and Tangoescente, for wind quintet, are currently in preparation and should be ready for inclusion to the CMP catalog by the end of this month.

CMP Composers in the News

On May 9, Guatemalan composer and flutist Gabriel Yela performed Telemann’s Twelve Fantasies for unaccompanied flute as the initial concert in a series of chamber music concerts in his country.
Misa hispánica, by Miguel Angel Santaella, was given its world premier performance by the Rapsodia Chamber Chorus in Maturín, Venezuela, on June 24. The ensemble was conducted by Guillermo Brazón.
Samuel Robles conducted the orchestra of the University of Panama in a program of music by Mozart and Schubert on July 10. Luisana Rivas, soprano, sang excerpts from The Marriage of Figaro, and Edward José Ballesteros, oboe, performed the second movement of the Mozart oboe concerto.
Luis Pérez Valero’s work, Danzón para momentos tristes for guitar orchestra, will be premiered on July 27 at the Municipal Theater in Valencia, Venezuela. In addition, Luis received an honorable mention in the Fifth Annual Counterpoint International Competition 2014.
Federico Núñez’s work, Arista insonora, for clarinet and string bass, will be premiered at the BA-CIC 2014 festival in Bahía Blanca, Argentina. More details as they come in...

Peru Circomper Meeting

CMP Travels to Peru!

CMP is just back from Lima, Peru, where we met with members of that country's composer association, CIRCOMPER. Pictured above, are (seated), Álvaro Zúñiga, Abel Castro Larrea and Antonio Gervasoni, and standing, John Walker, Sadiel Cuentas, Daniel Kudó, and Nilo Velarde. The meeting was very successful.
