A warm welcome from the SETI Institute!

Thank you for participating in the Sigur Rós – International Space Orchestra patch contest. Several of our SETI Institute scientists perform in the ISO, as do many of our colleagues from NASA and Singularity U. We enjoy the unique way we get to bring the excitement and awe of space exploration to new audiences through the music and performances of Sigur Rós and other music legends.

Visit our website at and learn more about the work of our 75 scientists. They conduct exciting, and important research in:
  • Astronomy and Astrophysics
  • Astrobiology
  • Exoplanets
  • Planetary Exploration
  • Climate and Geoscience
  • SETI – the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence

We bring the results of their work to the world through engaging presentations like our collaboration with Sigur Rós, and our SETI Artists-in-Residence program.  We publish our work in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present at scientific conferences around the world.  We also create amazing STEM education and public outreach programs that reach hundreds of thousands of curious minds across the globe.
Check us out on, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and YouTube to stay on top of all our programs and projects.  You will receive an e-newsletter from the SETI Institute in a couple of weeks, with quarterly updates, and occasional other correspondence.
In the meantime, enjoy this short video and see what else we are up to with Sigur Rós, the International Space Orchestra, and the Space Viking.

Best regards,
