Is your station meeting CPB's training requirement?

CSG stations are required to complete one CPB-sponsored training session a year. I you haven't so far, the CPB will announce additional training opportunities. If you are taking an online training session, be sure to register and sign in using a station email address.

NEW Harassment Prevention Training Required by CPB

CPB is requiring annual harassment prevention training for all officers, employees and interns of each station as a condition of the grantee’s eligibility for a radio or television Community Service Grant (CSG). Grantees may satisfy this requirement by completing one of the following training options:
  • An interactive online harassment prevention training service from NAVEX Global, available free of charge through CPB. You can submit your request for this training by completing this online form.
  • A comparable harassment prevention training program of your choice. The program will be considered “comparable” if it instructs your personnel individually, either in person or online, on the three topics included in the CPB-provided training service
    • What constitutes acceptable and unacceptable workplace behavior
    • How to recognize harassment when it occurs; and
    • How to report and respond to violations.
Grantees must certify their compliance in the next CSG Agreement and Certification of Eligibility which you will receive in early November. This means that you must complete this year’s training no later than October 1, 2018.
