Thank you for making our day!

To those who joined us over the weekend, thank you so much for attending the 4th consecutive TEDxWanChai event held on August 23rd at The Vine Centre! This year, following TED's global concept of “Ideas Worth Spreading”, we gathered an unprecedented line-up of 16 international speakers, attracting over 600 audience members to listen on and be inspired by insights in the fields of technology, design, philanthropy, culture and the arts!

Adopting the theme of “Ripples”, this year’s TEDxWanChai conference explored how a single idea or action can have profound and far-reaching implications. For those of you who came, you saw discussions being led by exceptional speakers from the varied worlds of academia, business, the media, technology, the arts, design, and humanities. You contributed to our Wall of Ideas and added your thoughts to our Ripples timeline. You met our amazing speakers and generous sponsors and celebrated with us at the after-event party at the Asia Society. Now, let us know what you thought of it all by filling out a quick survey here & do like our page on Facebook so you can keep up-to-date on our social media happenings.

From the pool of survey responses we will also be selecting 4 people who will receive free tickets to attend our next event - the TEDxWanChai salon being held on September 10!

TEDx Salons are  intimate and unique gatherings that TEDx organizers hold to continue the conversation on specific topics. We plan on organising several of these over the next year on a wide range of topics where we'll watch TED talks, host speakers and discuss the talks we watch!

About the Author

"Gordon Mathews takes on an intriguing project: daily life as it is lived, articulated, dreamed, denied, regretted, and defended in a rather run-down but very public building in Hong Kong. The residents of Chungking Mansions are economically blocked from the rest of the city and often racially discriminated against, so how do such marginalized people survive, much less prosper? This is the conundrum at the heart of Ghetto at the Center of the World." - William Jankowiak, author of Sex, Death, and Hierarchy in a Chinese City"

Thank you Sponsors!

And finally, we can't thank our sponsors nearly enough for the their incredible contribution to this year's event! From the TEDxWanChai team a big thank you!!
