An Appeal (I.Francis) and an Enquiry (N.Alexander) To Be Heard By The Disciplinary Panel on Friday 7 May 2021

The independent Disciplinary Panel of the British Horseracing Authority will convene on Friday 7 May to hear the following:

9:30am-Isobel Francis Appeal against finding and penalty

THE STREAMLINE TAXIS BRIGHTON 202020 APPRENTICE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)

Appeal by Isobel Francis, the rider of HONEY POT (IRE), placed fourth, against the decision of the Stewards who found that she had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post to be beaten a nose for third place. After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Ms Francis was suspended for 7 days for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished third.


12.00pm - Nicholas Alexander trainer of MANETTI (IRE)

Whether licensed trainer and Responsible Person Nicholas Alexander is in breach of Rule(K)1 (Presence of a Prohibited Substance) of the Rules of Racing due to the presence of Prohibited Substances Methylprednisolone in a post-race sample taken from MANETTI (IRE) following the horse’s run in the New Year Raceday on 2nd January Novices’ HandicapChase (Class 4) at Ayr on 13 November 2019.

Whether, as its post-race sample tested positive for Prohibited Substances, MANETTI(IRE) should be disqualified from the relevant race under Rule (L)47.4 (Horse Disqualifications).
