The Arkansas Community Action Agencies Association (ACAAA) Board of Directors is having a two-day board meeting/training session on July 20-21 at the offices of Wright Lindsey Jennings, 200 West Capitol Avenue — Bank of America building — in Little Rock.

A full Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, July 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.; the same day will also see an HR Affiliate meeting beginning at 11:00 a.m.  On Thursday, July 21, there will be a special training session, “HR Focus: Wage, Overtime Rule & HR Hot Topic Training,” from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

ACAAA—in conjunction with the New York State Community Action Association—is presenting a series of free instructional webinars about the Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.  The webinars will be held the second Wednesday of every month at 2:00 p.m. Central time (with a bonus session in December).  A list of topics and dates appears below: Click a session name to be taken to its description on the ACAAA website calendar; to register for any of the sessions, visit here.

NCAF — the National Community Action Foundation — has issued a “Request for Action” to all Community Action Agencies:

The Situation: A senior senator asked us to speak with the network and gather more information regarding the low-income banking opportunities we offer. This senator is particularly concerned with predatory lending, but wants to know more about the general financial opportunities available in low-income communities.

Call to Action: Please respond to this email (info@ncaf.org) if you believe your agency provides a financial service that you want to show off! In a few brief paragraphs, please explain the program, who it serves and the results/success stories it yields.”
