Convocation and All-School Photo

Head of School Peter Branch will deliver the annual Convocation speech to students and faculty on Friday at 1:45 p.m. But before he does, we'll all gather for an all-school photo by Ruth Clegg. Students, faculty, and staff are asked to wear predominantly blue or white for the photo. If your birth date falls on an odd numbered date, wear blue. If your birth date falls on an even numbered date, wear white.

Example: October 15 - WEAR BLUE.  October 16 - WEAR WHITE.

But most of all, bring your smiles!

Student Spotlight

Genevieve Bradley '23 won Best in Show at the Washington County Fair with her exhibit about her ceramics made in previous SEA and RHEA classes. She made a poster about the different ceramic techniques, and displayed several of her pieces created in each technique.

Best in Show means that Genevieve's exhibit was the best in Rhode Island for all 4Hers, including high schoolers!

Congratulations, Genevieve!

Faculty Focus

Sean Tinsley, Upper School English teacher, completed a fellowship as part of the 2015 Klingenstein Summer Institute with Teachers College, Columbia University. The institute was held on the campus of the Lawrenceville School in Princeton, NJ. Pictured below are the 78 early career educators who were awarded the fellowship.

On September 30, Darshell Silva, Rocky Hill School's Librarian and Technology Integrator, will serve as a panelist during an evening of learning, exploring, and collaboration around Open Education Resource (OER) content.

The event will bring together educators, district leaders, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders to learn, explore, build, and tag new OER content. During the event, attendees will leverage a free tool built by the Illinois Department of Education, called ISLE OER, followed by a hands-on opportunity to "play" in this sandbox environment. They will also explore the content and assessment tagging process through this free tool.
