Students' March for Racial Justice

On Sunday, September 20, a group of Rocky Hill School students and teachers marched in a rally to oppose white supremacist flyers that were distributed in East Greenwich earlier in the summer.

The march, organized by the White Noise Collective, harnessed the energy and activism of more than 300 people who met at Westminster Unitarian Church and walked a 2-mile route through the streets of East Greenwich while facing both support and opposition from local residents.

Here is the ABC6 News story about the event

EnviroWeek 2015 Wrap-up!

The weather was absolutely perfect last week for the Middle School's EnviroWeek activities.

Grade 7 students took to the water as they kayaked on Ninigret Pond in Charlestown. During the trip, the students learned about oyster farming and paddled over the oyster cages.

Students in grades 6 and 7 enjoyed a beautiful night under the stars, camping out on the front lawn of Hopelands. Students in grade 6 took to the climbing wall and learned how to "boulder."

Athletes of the Week

2015-09-18 21.22.52Faythe Schulte
Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey

“The Girls' Varsity Field Hockey team is pleased to nominate freshman field hockey player, Faythe Schulte as student-athlete of the week. Faythe found her passion for field hockey in the Middle School and put in the time and dedication to grow her game over the summer. In doing so, she has earned a spot in the starting line up on defense and has dominated against other players in the league that have much more experience than she. Continue to push yourself and inspire others, Faythe. Congratulations!”

- Coach Fairchild

2015-09-18 21.22.11Alejandro Rojas
Boys’ Varsity  Soccer

“In our first match of the season last Friday against Davies (a RIIL Division 3 finalist last year), this junior was a solid presence in the midfield. He assisted on two of our four goals. As the level of competition increases this fall, this player will be an instrumental part of how well we play as a team. The coaches recognize him not only for the quality of his play on the field, but also for how he has served as a positive role model for younger soccer players. Congratulations, Alejandro Rojas!”

- Coach Poskitt
