Techstars Startup Weekend Orlando This Weekend

From zero to startup in 54 hours!

Techstars Startup Weekend Orlando is THE place for entrepreneurs to look for a team, create a prototype of their idea, validate their business idea, and receive feedback from experienced entrepreneurs, all in one weekend.

Tickets are still available for the event this weekend and code OTECHROCKS gets a 20% discount here.

This is the 3rd year of the revitalized Techstars Startup Weekend Orlando and it promises to be a great ending to our celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week this week in Orlando.  This year, with the closing of Catalyst, we had to move the event and we found an equally attractive space to hold it in - CREDO Conduit.  A tremendous amount of work has gone into the planning and development of this event by the organizing committee and I have been happy to again be a part of it with Rajiv Menon (Informulate) and Vanessa Zabala (Orlando Economic Partnership).  (And not to be overlooked is Jason Wade's (Doorbell Ninja) contribution heading up the important task of managing food for some 130 people for the weekend).

What's in store this year?  On Friday evening participants will gather for dinner and networking.  Jacques Fu, CTO and cofounder at the fintech startup Fattmerchant, author of "Time Hacks", and cofounder of the Orlando Devs, the largest developer meetup in Orlando, will speak along with
Matthew Broffman, Director, Digital Platforms, City of Orlando.  Matt will be bringing a welcoming message from Mayor Buddy Dyer. After dinner, participants will pitch their ideas, form teams, and begin work on their startup.  Saturday and Sunday teams will continue work on their startups with help from Curtis Michelson (Minds Alert, speaking on Business Model Canvas) and Puja Madan (The Mindfulness Map, speaking on being focused) as well as mentors and coaches Patrick Odoyo (Rollins), Beth Kennedy (Marriott), Marco Santana (Orlando Sentinel), Cameron Marsh (BottomLine Clarity), Terrence Donnelly (Teeps and AdventHealth), Julianna Ormond (The Give Company), RC Williams (The Give Company), Bill Kunneke (The Experience Engine), Lily Wong Accenture
), Gene McCulley (StackFrame), Diane Court (Neoware Studios), Adam Scheinberg (Massey Services), Cassandra Wilcox (Code Hangar), Carol Ann Dykes Logue (UCF), Cameron Ford (UCF), and Renuka Sastri (accesso)The event ends Sunday night with teams presenting to a panel of judges: Jonathan Taylor (Entrenext Ventures), Rob Panepinto (UCF and Florentine Strategies), and Jason Rottenberg (Arsenal Growth).

I'll be at the event and urge every Orlando entrepreneur to consider participating or contributing as a mentor/coach.
