Welcome -President Paul @ 5:30 pm

Bob introduced, Kim Destun, Chief Fire Prevention Officer, with the St. Thomas Fire Department.

Presentation:  Fire Prevention

Kim described the three facets of the fire prevention role in St. Thomas.  Firstly, the fire prevention officers provide public education and in doing so help community members become more aware of the risks of fire within businesses, homes and schools.  Secondly, the fire prevention officers inspect businesses, vulnerable occupancies and other facilities and provide education or punitive measures such as tickets when necessary.  Finally, fire prevention officers attend fires and assess the circumstances around the fire.

Members had questions and comments.

Scott thanked Kim for presentation and for her service to the community..
