Guest Speaker
Jackson Coombs from Interact to introduce our guest speaker, Andrew Valdez.   Andrew shared an interesting presentation about Interact, which meets every other Sunday evening (no fees) at 7 p.m. in the St. Luke’s basement.  Begins Sunday Sept. 15th – please help spread the word that new members are invited to come out (for ages 12-18).   Their slogan is “Be the Change”.   Andrew described the leadership opportunities and fun activities, community service and fundraising that their club does in St. Thomas. They have raised over $25,000 for Children’s Hospital in London, as well as supporting many different international projects through the KIVA microfunds project. Scott thanked Andrew for his excellent presentation.

Club News
President Scott reminded members that the cheque presentation to the Elevated Park would happen at 4:00 on Sat. Sept. 14th.   Watch for the Media Release about our ST Railway City Music Playzone.  We are donating $10,000 now then $10,000 in April 2020 upon installation.

Use online sign up on Railway City Road Races if you wish to volunteer on Sunday Sept. 22nd.

Wed. Oct. 24th is World Polio Day- Flag Raising for Rotary Clubs and Community Leaders will be at 11:45 at St. Thomas City Hall.   Please meet there if you can join and come back to Roadhouse to have lunch with the other Rotary Club after flag-raising.

Big Brothers Big Sisters have a big surprise announcement next week at Knights of Columbus Hall between 4-8 pm on Wed. Sept. 18th.   Pop over after our meeting if you can to find out what is happening!
