St Thomas Railway City Rotary Club Minutes - June 30, 2021
Attendance:  Scott C. Al, Diane, Bill, Sandy, Ann, Sue, Wade, Paul, Mark, Helen, Roger, Bob, Dagmar, Roland

Welcome - President Scott @ 5:30 pm

Scott announced that Bill and Diane earned custodianship of the Service Above Self Award for this year.  Congratulations to Diane and Bill.  

Changeover of Club Officers 

Bill introduced Nancy, current AG for Area 10, and Gerry, new AG for Area 10, who would conduct the induction of the Board.
 
Gerry inducted Paul as our new club's President.  

Paul introduced and Nancy inducted the following Board members:

Scott thanked the club for its efforts, and Paul thanked Scott for his leadership during a challenging but successful year(s). 
Bill thanked Nancy for her service as AG these past three years. 
Financial Report - Helen

Approved Motion  Mover Helen Seconder Paul
As recommended by the Board and explained by Paul that the Reserve account is to ensure project funding during lean financial years and to ensure that annual surpluses are applied to club identified community needs, 

That the club maintain an account at the Libro Credit Union with a balance of $20,000 that is understood by club members to be Reserve account.  

Helen would be moving $16,000 from the Project account and $4,000 from the Operations account to the Reserve account.

There were questions and discussion about the motion.

Bill indicated that weekly requests for volunteers would be forthcoming and both markets have raised $2422 to date. .

Sandy reviewed the recently circulated memo,  Sandy also thanked the Interact Club and Gerry Jansen for their co-operation with the Market.

Board Meeting Minutes    June 29, 2021  at Scott Carrie's home

Helen advised the Board that all 3 District Grants had been approved,  

Helen and Diane will work with Sue regarding the plaque for the Ken Wilmott Memorial Tree Planting.  

Scott announced that Diane and Bill would be the recipients of the Service Above Self Award this year.  The Board thanked them for their service. 

Paul and Mark will continue funding the meals for IOTC during the summer.  The Board thanked them. 

There was agreement to hear from Athina and the consortium of Rotary Clubs with a Global Grant to provide medical equipment for children.  Diane also reminded the Board that further consideration might be given to the families that the club supported in Africa because of the continuing need.  Lastly, it was hoped that Jackson, Olivia and Athina could present to us about their RYLA experiences in August.
