St Thomas Railway City Rotary Club and Board Minutes, June 20, 2018

Wade called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Guests:   Ken (PD) and Donna Krebs from District 5550, Danielle
Still Looking for a Vice-President.
Ian reviewed the new club website which includes the schedule until October, 2018.
Motion:  That the club schedule be adopted as presented.  Mover    Ian    Seconder     Sandy Approved
Dues are Due!  There are seven members with dues still owing.
Bingo Schedule -  The June schedule is staffed, and we have earned $12,555.21.  We do not have dates for July yet. 
Club Schedule
MS 50/50 Draw will be held at the Roadhouse on June 22.
Change over BBQ- June 27 at Scott and Jennifer Carrie’s house.  Wade has sent out sign up sheet for BBQ.
July 25-  This will be Fun Night.

Wade reviewed the schedule for July and August.
Wade presented our Rotary Citation Dashboard, and the club did well.  This included a discussion of many of our projects.
Wade invited contributions from members regarding the committees.  Membership-   Memberships information including discussion of operationalizing the membership process has been placed on the Google Drive.   District Grants -  Thanks to Ken for his work on the District Grants for 2017-18, which are now complete, and to Ian and Ken for their submissions for District Grants for 2018-19.
Sue and Al presented an update on the development of the RYE program.  The program is proceeding.
Chris provided an update on the Lano Verande School washrooms in Guatemala.  They have requested that our donation of $1500 be given by July 21 so it can be matched locally.  
Free Reading-   There has been out reach with community groups, and a presentation will be held on September 5.   It was suggested that a letter be sent to school Parent Councils.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Thomas-Elgin County   Sandy spoke about the school mentoring program.  She will bring pamphlets and applications.
We sang Happy Birthday to Chris.

The meeting was called to order at 6:55 p.m.
Minutes of the Last Meeting
Motion:  That the minutes of the last meeting be accepted as circulated.  Mover Ian Seconder Mark Approved
Ian indicated that the membership number supplied to Rotary International has been corrected; Al indicated that he prepared a cheat sheet on steps for doing the Train Whistle and will email a copy to Barb.
There was an update of paid club membership.
Statement Accounts-  Libro Operations 9,962.51    Libro Projects   5,443.28    OLG Bingo 7,883.94
Libro Account for signing authority has been taken to Libro. Barb must go to Libro and sign.
Motion:  Fifty per cent of funds collected as Happy Bucks be sent to Rotary International.
Mover Ian Seconder Mark Approved
Motion:  Stationary costs of $14.01 for the RYE program be paid to Sue Bandeen to reimburse her for her costs.  Mover    Ian    Seconder   Scott   Approved
It was requested that the club start the process to consider Danielle’s membership.    Wade thanked everyone for their efforts this year. 
Fidelity Investment will make a $500 donation to the club, and the funds will be reallocated to One Hug at a Time.
Ian has invited members to suggest speakers for upcoming club meetings.   Ian is trying to do the schedule 3 months in advance, and it will be posted on the web page.
The Fish Fry has been discussed.  Beer numbers coming!
Service and Projects
Sandy discussed the large number of projects.  Attention will be paid over the coming year to projects that the club actively supports.
