Welcome - President Scott @ 5:30 pm

4 Way Test

Guest Speaker
Sue introduced Scott Van Haren, who presented his All About Me.
Scott shared stories about his family and professional lives.   Scott was born in Ridgetown, and attend Guelph University where he met Lorie.   At Guelph University, Scott completed programs in Primary Production and Management in Agriculture.  They currently live on a farm outside Sparta and raise horses.  Scott and Lorie, a veterinarian, also operate a veterinary business in Lambeth.  Their veterinary clinic provides Western and alternative approaches to animal care. Scott and Lorre have two intelligent and capable children, Scottie, a Rotary Youth Exchange program student, and Michaella, a gifted performer.  As a family, they enjoy visiting Disneyworld and touring around Ontario as well as other parts of Canada.  Scott and Scottie also went to Cambodia to build entry level homes for local people.  Scott provided an interesting talk about an interesting life!

Members asked Scott questions.  Sandy thanked Scott for his informative presentation.

Local Community Service - Sandy
Paul provided an update regarding Inn Out of the Cold.  Due to a recent Covid-19 case among the clients, volunteers have decided for now not to prepare meals.  Paul will monitor the situation and adjustments will be made as appropriate.

Sandy indicated that the Shamrock Shuffle is set to take place on March 13 as a virtual event.  Sandy and Scott V. are going to look into Canada Helps re charitable number.   It was decided to defer our participation in the Shamrock Shuffle for this year, and make an additional contribution to INOTC later in the year if finances permitted.

Rotary Youth Exchange - Al G
Al gave an update about the Rotary Youth Exchange program.  There are students still wanting to participate, and there are host families.  There are questions regarding the ability of the program to meet Rotary International’s and government’s requirements about school and travel.  The Youth Services Committee plans to have a recommendation for the club’s consideration on January 20, 2021.  Al would then relay the club’s decision to Don Bork, District 6330 Rotary Youth Exchange Chairperson.
