ARC England update

During this busy time we continue to focus on bringing you the latest COVID-19 advice and guidance for the social care learning disability and autism sector. Please continue to share anything that you have found helpful and we will pass it on to our members.

ARC Member Conference Calls
Our weekly conference call with members was again a useful forum for sharing and discussing key matters, including PPE, furloughing and shielding. ARC Director Lisa Lenton and the ARC team will be taking these issues forward and we will report back on any developments as and when they happen.

Look out for your invitation to the next ARC conference call on Wednesday 15th April 2.30-3.30pm.

223 care providers took part in the survey which ran from 17 – 26 March.
Key findings include:

  • Low confidence in managing workforce issues in worst-case scenario
  • High levels of concern in relation to PPE shortages
  • High levels of concern about cash flow including payroll, increasing price of PPE, plus real concern about threat of insolvencies and business failures
  • Key pressure in next 12 months seen as recruitment and retention, and finances
  • In terms of supporting service users, most are maintaining normal routines, are not yet affected by COVID19, or have increased in-house activities
